I have not posted in a while I'm feeling really bad lately had my port a cath in now 4 about 6 weeks I guess go 4 my regular flushing, then last Thursday I go to Halifax for my yearly scope and they couldn't get any blood back from my port a cath they got me to move in different positions putting my arms above my head to see if they could get some blood in the line,Dr>Williams came into get me 4 my scope and I lost my time slot cause they still didn't access my port, they finally decided to call down the nurses from ICU and with a little swearing under my breathe hoping it would work after all its only in a month and a half they got a little blood good enough 4 Dr.Williams to inject my lala drugs by the time the third needle hit which was the morphine I was out till she came to a narrowing and had another dose.So after I got out of recovery and came home the next morning my port was sore now its like a fresh scab rare skin it hurts that bad I can't even touch it do you think its possible that the MEDS could be responsible for this cause the Iron infusions and the blood doesn't cause these problems (should I go to the doctor or do you think this will go away on its own) Thanks 4 listening to me vent I hope everyone is doing well???Jenn sad sad sad

Sometimes the level of force they use can make it sore, from the pushing and pulling. I would call your doc, and if you have a cool wet cloth that you could put on it in the meantime.
