Good morning! I need some advice. Yesterday, I had pain and lots of pressure in my upper right abdomen, and around my ribs there, as well as pain in my right flank area where my kidney would be. I also had pressure by my rectum and the center of my upper abdomen. I did BM early in the morning, but later in the day, it was difficult to even pass gas. I was very nauseated and vomited up a small amount of bile???? I could eat nothing all day. Today, I have had 7 BM's (not unusual) and feel a little better, but there is something hurting now in the lower right quadron of my intestines when I strain. It literally feels like there's something "blocking" that area. This has happened before but without the right flank pain, and without such specific pressure. Does anyone think I should seek medical attention or just wait it out since I do feel a little better today? Perhaps it was/is just gas??? I never know. I appreciate any advice I can get. God bless.
Had my gallbladder out in 2001,chronic inflammatory bowel disease diagnosed(FINALLY) in August 2008, Psoriasis, Had severe eczema and asthma as a small child (now no) Psoriatic Arthritis, chronic sinusitis, allergies,  including one episode of anaphylactic shock while having one of my "bowel episodes" at my daughters pediatricians office. Current meds: Omeprazole 20mg in AM,Flonase nasal spray, Quit Bentyl since it was the only med I had taken 30 min. prior to anaphylactic shock. Quit Nexium because it is too expensive! My PCP refuses to treat me, my GI doc only prescribed Nexium, and then NEVER discussed a treatment plan with me after telling me I had chronic inflammatory bowel disease when he got the results from all of my biopsies and test results from a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. I need a GREAT doctor!

I think the best way I can answer your question is to explain what I have felt with an obstruction. I get pain in the bellybutton area that comes in waves, much like labor pains, I cannot pass air or stool at all, my stomach becomes very hard and painful. And within time I start throwing up. The pain is horrible and there is no way I could not go to the ER.

Sounds like you might have had a partial obstruction. But it also sounds like you might be flaring and possible gallbladder problems. I would give your doc a call and discuss what is going on with you. Sounds like you need some tests ran. Good luck!

I would have the doctor check it out. Most likely they will do a CT scan, at least that is what they did for me. I had an obstruction and your symptoms were similar to mine. I also had what felt like flutters of air through my stomach and a lot of gurgling. I thought it was just gas too but it lasted a few days and I ended up going to the emergency room because the pain was so bad. Good luck.

Love to Laugh, I am sorry but your sig is too long. Unfortunately we have to keep them under 10 lines. Will you please fix this? Thanks!

Sickliz,
I definately think you should call your doc. It might help in the meantime to try and move around a bit if you can.
Take care,
