hi everyone..

can anyone here tell me what this sentence means?  I saw it on my medical notes from my GI and its kinda confusing.   thank you in advance..

" You have impaired coordination of intestinal peristalsis with an ileus."

and what would it mean if it stated WITHOUT an ileus?  just curious.. thanks for your help, if possible!

Your intestines do not move properly (function together at the right time) and you have never had a resection of your ileum

"Ileus is a partial or complete non-mechanical blockage of the small and/or large intestine. Ileus is a functional rather than mechanical obstruction of the bowel. It is a lack of propulsive peristalsis (wave-like movement) of the bowel." To read the causes of an ileus, read here: http://digestive-disorders.health-cares.net/ileus.php

Your first post said the note stated "with an ileus." In your second, you said "he said i have it WITHOUT ileus." So which is it? If it was "without an ileus" it would mean you don't have a blockage.

ok, sorry for the confusion. i was basically looking for what WITHOUT meant most of all. meaning, which one is there a problem with..when you have WITH ileus or when you have one WITHOUT. still kinda confused, but thank you for your time and help.
