Hey everyone, I am new here and I desperately need some advice.
I'm 24 and male and am suffering from CD. I was diagnosed on my birthday last year and it's been a long and arduous task to find a doctor. I have been to over 10 since I had my scope diagnosis done and none of them are prescribing me ANY kind of medication to deal with this. I can feel each day how having no treatment is exacerbating the condition, and after begging and pleading for over a year I'm at my wits end. I can't eat anything anymore without the nauseousness and pain putting me in bed. I've lost my job, my independence and my dignity with how doctors treat me, trying to give me SSRI's and ranitidine (which does nothing for me btw). So after moving and seeing another 2 doctors in the area I am still getting the same treatment (or lack thereof) and I just don't know what to do anymore.

Wow, thats a bad string of luck. I had a doctor too who refused to treat me proper...wouldn't believe I could possibly have a flare cause I'd never had one before (we all start at one don't we????)...didn't believe I could have crohns cause I was young, 17 at the time (apparently only old people got it????!) and during a scope I had a deadly allergy to a med and she refused to tell me just WHAT happened and everytime I am in a hospital they need to know and I can't tell them (said she couldn't tell me about my own reaction, it wasn't allowed...moron, it was MY body!!). Basically I dropped her and when I started having super bad problems with her lack of treatment and no doctor help I ended up in the hospital lots, at first the first hospital I went to didn't treat me much either, then I switched hospitals and they finally listened to my story and GOT me a doctor that would take me on and care.....have you been to a hospital and told them you need help? they can usually link you up to thier GI's on hand and hopefully one will actually take you on properly. I got rather persistant in telling them I had NO treatment or meds or help cause I had to drop the doc and they found me someone with that. Other then that, I hope you luck in your search, I think we all have stories of bad GI's, so keep searching, someone will come along! I also find regular docs can't do much, don't bother with family docs much for crohns.

NiozMaker,
It might help to know your general location. Like what state you live in. Sorry to hear you have gone thru such a ringer. It might be that a new doc wants to do a new scope that is normal.

I'm just stunned that things like this are still happening. I don't understand how no one can be giving you medication for your Crohn's disease.
There has to be someone in your area that will see you and treat you properly.
Like Navy said, it would really help to know where you are to maybe be able to give you some suggestions.
