I understand that crohns is an embarressing illness. But there is no need to feel like that on here everyone is in the same boat. You may find that whilst you are in a flare up your life may be more restricted. However, you can still have a normal sex life. I like to keep toilet wipes in the loo so that i can make sure that I am clean at all times. Sex can sometimes be painful but maybe its different for men.

Believe me you will adjust and will learn how to live with this illness. I find that been honest with my family and friends helps me. I always try to make a joke of my trips to the loo etc

Sex kinda depends on how ya feel. Do you have fistula's that hurt or get worse when you orgasm? I definately would say that abdominal pain and urgency can really put a damper on having relations. We definately understand how your quality of life changes when you become ill. The good news is that hopefully you find an effective treatment and regain alot of your quality of life back.
Please ask questions, just remember to try and keep it clinical.

Have you seen the travel packs of wipes? they would fit into the cargo pockets (and some of those zip and button really good) near the knee.

You mustnt let crohns rule your life. What medication are you on? Have you spoke to your doctor about how you feel, crohns can result in depression

Guy...if you cannot find the travel packs...you can try what my husband does (has hemmies, not Crohn's) He uses the prep H wipes, found at any Target, Walmart, or Drugstore or any that is sewer/septic safe...these can also include toddler wipes(huggies has a pretty decent wipe)...you gotta read the fine print. If it doesn't say that it is, don't try it..put a few the wipes in a (however many you may need to be discreet and/or what you need...depends on the size of the pocket) plastic ziploc baggie. He can then put them either in front or back pocket.

BTW, I understand how this disease can get you down...It can get us all down. Used to run marathons...now what I'd give to be able to run 50 yds...Make sure you tell you doc about what is going on...sometimes being "down" can be an effect of the steroid (entocourt) and/or may be fatigue that is an indicator that inflammation or other item(s) that might be rearing its ugly head...

I've learned a lot here...it doesn't seem so lonely, so isolating, when you hear about other people going through similar things...Keep us updated...
