Ileocal valve diameter is only 7-8 mm

I got my colonoscopy results back today (the colonoscopy was on May 12). Although my colon looked normal, the biopsies showed that I still have inflammation. Also, my ilecoal valve is a tiny 7-8 mm in diameter. Does anyone happen to know what the diameter of a normal colon is? Or how small is too small?

I don't see my GI for another month or so. I plan on asking about strictureplasty and stents. Has anyone had either of these procedures done? I'd rather not have the valve cut out if at all possible.

Current Meds: Humira since 7/08, Pentasa, Effexor XR
Supplements: 3 kinds of Fish Oil, Multi-Vitamin, B-Complex, Vitamins D, E, & K, Calcium, Magnesium, Enzymes
SCD since 12/01/08 - eating Stage 3 foods

I have heard of strictureplasty, not much about stents. I lobbying my GI to approve me for double-ballon endoscope dilation...let us see if I will get the approval. If get the approval to see a GI surgeon I might ask strictureplasty and stents...will let you know.

My dad has crohn's, and his doctor has talked about putting an expandable metal stent in his narrow spot. It's the first I'd heard of it as well.
