Welcome to Healing Well, Deb! I am so sorry about your husband's recent diagnosis. That must have been a real shock to say the least. We have had one or two members with Crohn's that were diagnosed with colon cancer. I am not sure if they have posted anytime recently. Did they discover your husband;s cancer during a routine colonoscopy to check his Crohn's status?

Is your husband a candidate for a j-pouch or is he having an ileostomy? If he is going to have an ileostomy we do have a ostomies forum here at Healing Well that you might also want to check out.

Hopefully, some of our members with more experience with this surgery will be along to help. ~~ Ides

might be useful to come take a look on the ostomy board--has been incredibly helpful to me. I have crohn's and have had an ileostomy and total proctocolectomy. Wishing you well.
24+ years with Crohn's/colitis; fistulizing crohn's; ileostomy and proctocolectomy; propranolol and xanax; been on a ton of crohn's meds; praying to get through each day.
