this is my third time that I start pred, because of allergie

The first two times I had got high dosage through IV, now I just start with 5 tablets (25 mg) and trap down to one in 7 days.

The point is when I start pred the first day I feel like crap, I have pins and needles all over my body and my Esophagus is cramping. This happens all three times but it is vorse now :(
I have bad pins and needles in my back now :S

Do you feel the same or dont you feel anything ?

I did not get any of those symptoms. I did, however, have a lot of energy for the first couple of weeks. Once I started tapering down though, I lost all the energy.
Crohn's Disease.
Diagnosed 13+ years ago.
Been in remission for short periods of time but each time I come out of remission my disease seems to have spread.  No longer isolated in my ileum, now from stomach down to rectum.
Current Medications for the Crohns:  Humera 40mg injections every other week, Imuran 150mg, Levsin, Welchol 625mg, Prednisone 10mg(started weaning off, now going back up in dosing).Canesa suppositories, Calcium, Acidophilus & Potassium
Misc:  I recently joined a local crohns disease support group that meets monthly.  It has been great talking to and meeting other people who share the same disease.  I hope to continue gaining insight through this forum as well.

I think you need to call your doctor. Sounds like you might be having a allergic reaction. I have never heard of that as a side effect. Good luck and let us know what the doc says.

J- yes you MUST taper off Prednisone. You could have serious health problems with your adrenal gland if you don't.

Ditto what Wolfie says. Prednisone makes me feels great, but I hate it at the same time. My only bad symptom is the pumpkin face and I get irritability. I've been on 40mg of Prednisone for over a month now. Just had resection and am tapering down now. I'm at 30 mg still, so not feeling the withdrawal effects yet. I've not heard of the side effects you are reporting. Good luck.

I always feel very ill and my legs feel like rubber. I never had that energy boost that everyone talks about. If I take too much it feels like my heart is beating so hard it is going to burst. Once I am at 30mg I feel much better. I do get a bit despressed when I taper off.

Irish,

I would suggest that maybe a quick wqord with your doctor will do you no harm. Sounds like you could be having a reaction.
