I was diagnozed with Crohn's in 2003. I am currently taking Remicade every 8 weeks and am doing good. The only thing is I beleive Remicade does increase your appetite and ability to gain weight more rapidly becuase your body is absorbing nutrients and fat.

I have been looking into Acai Berry as a appetite surpressent but am unsure if taking both remicade and acai berry will cause side effects. Does anyone have any info or know where I can get more info. Medical Doctors don't know too much about natural supplements and naturopaths vice versa.

Any help would be great.

Ive been drinking Acai Berry juice on a daily basis. I notice a difference with it, it calms down my stomach a lot. I dont see why it would cause a problem with Remicade.  When I WAS on Remicade I was never told I couldnt limit anything in my diet. I dont know if your talking about an actual surppresent or just the juice.  If it just regular Acai Berry juice I dont see a problem, but if its a "drug" of some sort Id ask my doctor before taking it.

-DKTO-

i have bin in the alternative health industry for over 6 years now. in my honest opinion acai is a good antioxidant, like noni, goji, ect... it is a ok appetite supplement when taken in the right mg counts....

pills and tabs: $20-60. 400mg - 500mg per pill.
blends of juice: $15-45. 3000mg - 5000mg per oz.
pure juice: $35-50. all around 30,000mg per oz.

to keep cost down if i were you i would opt for the pure juice and take 1/3 oz before each meal. one oz a day. in a 32oz bottle you will get a month out of it. and thats still 2X stronger then the blend. pills are too week there for opera-ers... lol
diagnosed with crohn's 6-15-09 at age 23.

meds:
asacol: 400mg. 3 3X a day
prednisone: 10mg. 3 in the morning

supplements:
multivitamin, cal/mag, probiotic, fish oil, vitamin C, digestive enzymes, rice protein. looking into l-glutamine next
