I am Ph.D. researcher from the University of Alberta looking for people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD; Crohn’s or ulcerative colitis) to participate in a short online study about the role of stressors (barriers to employment, healthcare access and perceived stigma from others) in the adjustment and coping with IBD.

The survey is short and takes approximately 15-30 minutes to complete, depending on how much you choose to write. Like you, I also live with an autoimmune disease, so I have tried to make the content of the survey as meaningful as possible. I hope that by completing this survey you will learn something about yourself too.

If you are interested in participating or for more information please visit the study website at:

The study is open to anyone with Crohn’s disease or ulcerative colitis.
This study has been approved by the University of Alberta REB (Board of Ethics).

Thank you!

You might want to get in touch with Crohn's and Colitis Australia who have just done a fair bit of research and lobbying on IBD and barriers to employment.
