I have always described my joint pains as "little demons inside my joints pushing to get out"  That is the best description I can give of how the pain feels.  It feels like someone is in a bubble pushing on all the edges to get out.  This is usually worst in the spring rains and damp winters.....but I am getting now????

The new thing is when the feeling is greatest in my knuckles wrists and elbows, I then feel nauseous.  Hey I have had this DD for too many years to keep having new things pop up!  Anyone else have their arthritic pain make them nauseous??

Right now I am just putting cold wash clothes on the back of my neck to work on the nausea.  I have to keep typing today as work is nuts.

Are you sure you are not flaring? I think with the combination of joint pain and nausea you might want to contact your doctor and try to catch it early. Sending gentle hugs and healing prayers your way.\

Oh, and have you been checked for Rheumatoid arthritis? RA usually shows up in those areas. Good luck!

Gail...thanks for the thoughts. I am not sure if I am in a true flare. I know I ate something bad for me yesterday, but the joint pain has been off and on for about two weeks. The odd thing is I am only nauseous when I get the pain in the joints...the pain is an dull ache most of the time, but the pressure from the inside gets bad every few hours the last few days. It's just not what I am used to. When I first posted I was leaning over my trash can, now the pressure is less and I am not nauseous.

Yup...should probably see my doc, but I have still not been able to get into a new GI yet. I really don't want to spend the $ to see the old guy..."so when are we starting Remicade"...there I just gave my whole office visit with him without paying the cost. I have an HRA plan now so I pay the first $2500 out of my own pocket, then 80/20 to another 5K. I just don't want to pay for something unless it gets me somewhere.

I have mentioned the joint pain to all of my specialists over my history. Most just say "yes, that is a side effect of Crohns and you have to live with it". i guess I am looking for more help there with the new guy. Everyone has said how great he is...I jsut need to get in.

I used to have terrible knuckle pain but since my surgery I have had little to no pain at all. Makes me wonder if I have joint pain only when my disease is active.

Wolfie I was once told by a Rheumy that joint pain is often a precursor to a Crohns flare.
