Hi all -

I had to have some lab work done recently for a job application (it was actually a drug screen...I passed! :0) but one of the things that came back was that I had bilirubin in my urine. Since this wasn't done by one of my regular physicians, they just gave me the results and sent me on my way. I don't see my GI again for a few weeks but I wanted to know if anyone else had something similar show up and what it could mean.

Thanks!
**Diagnosed with ulcerative colitis in 2001; diagnosis changed to Crohn's disease in 2009 (but still only impacts colon)
**Asacol (4800 mg daily), 6-MP (100 mg daily -- recently switched from Imuran), Prednisone (8 mg daily...for a few more weeks), Flagyl (250 mg every other day), Nexium (40 mg daily)
GOAL of one day being immunosuppressant free...still working on my doctor on this one but I am a world traveler who desperately wants to go to Africa one day!

No, it looks normal.

Bookgal77,

I would probably call your GI and let her/him know about the test results. It may be a good idea to get some labs done to make sure everything is ok. The medications we take can cause all kinds of strange side effects so it is important to monitor. Hope you get some answers soon.

Give your GI a call and let them know, it could turn out to be nothing but better to safe.
Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice - I see my hematologist this afternoon so I'm going to show him the results and ask what he thinks...then give my GI a call and fax them over to him too. You just never know with this disease what the next thing could be, so I want to stay on top of all of it! :)
