Does anyone else get a fever after getting remicade?
I had my first infusion yesterday. I had a headache and was rather tired after but nothing too much.

Today I felt ok in the morning but by afternoon I started running a bit of a fever and was achy in a flu like way. I have been taking tylenol every 4-5 hours but my temp is still low grade.

I have heard from others that use Remicade, that they feel a little rough for a day or two after their infusion but after that feel much better. Give it a few days and see how it goes. Good luck!

If you tolerate Benadryl (antihistimine only), I would recommend taking one or two at bed time. That always put me to rights if I felt a little fevery. The tired part was unavoidable for me for a day or so, but the antihistimine always seemed to negate the rest of the "yucks" for me. Might be worth a try?

I always got IV Beny at the time of infusion as well. It relaxed me, I slept thru the infusion, and woke up as it was ending in time to clear my head and drive home chipper. Maybe beny at the infusion would help you next time too.

Hope you puzzle something out!

Cimzia (started 2-12-09) Again, not helping much, if at all.
Probiotics, Digestive Enzymes, Forvia vitamins, and calcium chewies
Feeling a bit jaded lately, but trying to keep my chin up.

I get IV benedryl, solumedrol and tylenol before the infusion.
I didn't think of taking benedryl at home. I will try that next time. I assume I will react the same way.

I do feel better today. Still feel like I am getting over the flu, but atleast I don't feel like I got run over by a truck....
The fever seems to be gone too.
