I just wanted to say thanks to everyone on here with their honesty and words of wisdom and encouragement!  I trust hearing from real people who understand.  My husband doesn't uderstand why I would want to be on here, thinking it would be discouraging to see and hear all that everyone has gone through and is going through.  But it has been so helpful already in helping take away fear by giving me knowledge and support.
God bless you all!
Diagnosed with CD 3 years ago.  Refused to take meds until recently started Colazal.

This is a wonderful site. This site has helped me in so many ways and has educated me on my disease better than any doctor has, and I hope that I have helped contribute to this site.

I agree with you both. I have found it incredibly helpful to learn that I'm not alone and that there are real people out there going through the same things I am. We need support. If you're anything like me, in my own little world, nobody else has Crohns or Colitis or any other bowel issue to that extent. They can't be expected to understand why I'm obessessed with my bowels and why I have all these weird symptoms and why I have to think about my bowels 24/7. My husband has been wonderful, and goes with me to the support group I found that tries to meet on a monthly basis. He also goes to all my doc appts and takes me to the ER when I'm curled up in a ball in tears because the pain in my stomach is so severe that I can't really do anything else. We all need each other, even if just to vent.

Here's to our bowels! - cheers!!! :)
