Ive been on Remicade/Infliximab since last October. Never had any problems during the infusion. However today about 2/3rds through I started to feel a bit nauseous. The right near the ned of my infusion when I only had 15ml to go I started to faint. I was told I went deathlly white. Nurse took my blood pressure and it was very low. They laid me on a bed, fed me lucazade and after about 10-15 mins it passed and my blood pressure was normal.

The nurse said this is not a normal reaction and had I eaten (yes but not loads) or could I be dehydrated (v poss I dont take in much fluid)  She said they would have to look more closely at this if it happens again. I worry that they will stop my infusions. I feel fine now just very tired.

Has any one else had this happen during Remicade infusions
Diagnosed 2005.

A similar thing happened to me. I got nauseous, got up to go to the bathroom, and passed out cold. I woke up on the floor, and it took me awhile to figure out where I was and what happened. I had a big bump on my head too! I also broke out in purple spots and got so cold my teeth were clacking. This was my first allergic reaction. They stopped the infusion, and then started again later at half speed.

The next infusion they started at half speed, but I still had an allergic reaction almost immediately. All of the previous symptoms, plus stabbing pains in my kidneys, a tight chest, and really high blood pressure. They stopped the infusion, and that was the end of remicade for me.

I'm on Humira now, and so far, so good.

never happened to me, I usually feel great during infusion, just a little chilly but I enjoy the time at the hospital.

I hope this is not related to the Remi just some thing that would have happened no matter what you where doing.
