Hi All - I hope people are doing good.

I have been in remission for 9 months but was in hospital for a week with a serious duedonal ulcer in February. Since then I have been doinng alright but last night I had an explosive bowel movement and I could detect mucous.

I took an Imodium and 1 gram suppository as a precaution and went to sleep.

I woke up this morning and had 6 bowel movements - starting normally and then gradually turning to diarrhoea. Now I have IBS so the anxiety may be the cause or it an onset of a flare?

I don't have blood yet thank God, just several BM's.

Any advice on warding it off?

Diagnosis Oct 07: Mild Crohn's Colitis. Also suffer from bleeding Peptic Ulcers. By the grace of God currently in remission. Current Medication: 1000mg Pentasa Tablets x 2 a day. VSL#3. Asacol Suppository at night.

Doesn't always have to mean you are flaring. Sometimes I will have a few days like that because I have either had alot of stress or even ate something that didn't agree with my system. I would watch it for a bit and if things continue longer than a week, I would contact your doctor right away. Good luck!

Sometimes I will do that for a couple days and be fine.  Have you been around anyone that has been sick lately? Maybe it is a flu bug of some kind.  I hope you feel better very soon.

Could you have gotten C-Diff from the hospital/antibiotics?

I have IBS too and when I get sick my anxiety of just how sick I will get often makes it worse and it's a vicious cycle. My GI prescribed me Hyomax and it's amazing. When I feel myself stomach sick b/c of anxiety, it really helps - it works within minutes to slow things down and it doesn't make me constipated like Immoduim sometimes does. It might be worth talking to your doctor about.

I hope you feel better!
