I'm about halfway through my pred prescription and don't seem to need as much sleep as before and am not tired all the time as I was... Is the extra energy a result of the decrease of inflammation or just a side effect of the medicine?

It is absolutely from the prednisone. Enjoy the extra energy.

Definetly it is the Prednisone. As stated above, enjoy it while you can.
