Just wondering if anyone here is affected by the sun shining brightly. Every time I'm in bright sunlight I need the bathroom two minutes later. I was wondering if this had to do with the crohns

It's strange isn't it, If I remember correctly, I did read something about the sun having an effect on the digestive system in some people. It was a long time ago so I don't remember the details but I have heard about it. I can't say it has happened to me though. I don't get much sun here.

Actually mine has improved since more exposure to the sun. Used to love summers because everything would settle a bit then I just decided to go to a more tropical place. Daily sun just makes me feel good all around. Could be the meds with the sun maybe?
SCD since 01, remission since 01, occasional random junk food breaks :)
No meds ever.

I've heard of people with an allergy to sunlight, but that did not manifest as it does for you. There is a vague connection possible in the allergy department - if the sun increases you IgE level as a result of an allergic reaction, it could trigger a response from the mast cells in your gut - but that is all speculation.

I live in a very sunny place...and it doesn't affect me. But maybe sun and heat relax your stomach and that just moves things through faster...when you already have spasms or inflammation. Just a thought, but I have no evidence.
