Hi Laura. I think you should ask your doctor about
a HIDA scan. I too was having the same sorts of pains and my ultra sounds and CT scans didn't show any gall stones. My family dr ordered the HIDA scan and it showed my gall bladder wasn't functioning. I had it out within a mo after that. I still have pains in that area off and on, however they are not near as bad. My GI said that he believes it is sesitive spots in my intestines.
The scan is just an IV with this special nuclear type fluid that works its way though your gallbladder and into your liver over about
three hours. It is pretty boring because you have to lay there with the machine over you.
