Hi Conker,

Here are my guesses:

1. Azathioprine (a.k.a. Imuran)
2. Adalimumab (a.k.a. Humira)

Do either of those sound right to you?

btw, would you be able to ease up on the SMS lingo, please? Some of us are sad and tragic and don't even *use* a mobile phone, so find SMS hard to understand :-)

ps. I'm sorry you're in such pain after sticking with the Modulen for so long. It must be very upsetting for you, and I feel for you.

Yeah. I did TPN once, and started bleeding etc again the day they ripped out the tube. I cried and cried and cried; there are times when life just isn't fair, because you've *worked* for better health, Conkers, and you deserve it.

Imuran is a fairly common drug for Crohn's. It's a long time since I've been on it myself (I reacted to it eventually and am on methotrexate now) but my memory is that they tend to monitor your blood quite intensively for the first few months, just to make sure the medication isn't harming you, and then they'll back off and only do blood tests every now and then.

Try not to be too frightened about the Imuran. I know it sounds terrifying, but most drug info sheets are pretty scary :-)... and this medication might really help you, and might even send you into remission.

If you click on the "medications" link in my sig you'll find some information on Imuran: both official stuff, and good threads where members have shared their experiences in taking the drug. I hope you will find the links helpful.

Ivy.
