Hey Everyone!
I just found this site a littler earlier and have already found so much great information.
A little about me, I'm 39 yr old female diagnosed with CD 2/09.  My first symptoms were 6/08, I decided were due to stress and could handle it on my own.  2/09 I couldn't stand the pain anymore and didn't think I'd make it.  A couple of days after admission it was determined I had CD - ulcers all the way through the digestive tract.
Long story short, my doctors and I did everything we could to avoid surgery and yet by mid March my colon perforated.  My surgeon said my insides were shredded and none of the large colon was left in tact.
My surgeon and GI are both in agreement that I need to take meds to stay in remission- that I can't afford to lose any more intestine.  I tried Imuran and d/t side effects had to dc.
Getting ready to start Humira and honestly pretty nervous.  If there is a 1% chance of a side effect I tend to get it.  I've done research but would love to hear from anyone either good or bad that has experience either with Humira or CD that seems to escilate so quickly.
Thanks much!

Ivy6 has a thread in the resource thread above, that has posts about our different medications, you might want to check that one out. I have not had to take that one, so unfortunately have no info for you. But I did want to welcome to Healingwell. We have alot of wonderful folks trying to live with this darn disease too. I look forward to hearing more from you.
