I tend to have a LOT of pain in the anus when I am even the least bit flared as it gets super inflamed from all the pushing during BM's.

I think it could also be from bad BM habits because it gets sore and inflamed even when I am not really flared. It just feels like I have not emptied my bowels.

My doc gave me Anucort suppositories which really help a lot. My only issue is that it seems that when I do end up using one when I am not flared, I end up having the not-emptied-bowel feeling for a few days more so I end up using the suppository for a few days more.

But, if I just push through the pain and don't use the suppository, I seem to not get inflamed or in pain by the next day.

Not sure if I am making sense but I now try to only take the anucort as a worst case scenario because I know if I use it I will need to use it again for a few days.

I am assuming you are saying that you suffer with constipation some? I use stool softners nightly, they really help to keep things softer and easier to pass. If I didn't use them nightly I would be in a world of hurt the next day.

I guess its constipation but I think it is more that I never feel like I have emptied my bowels so I just keep pushing...leading to the inflammation and swelling of the anus which is super freaking painful.
