Hi guys!

I thought I'd use this forum to my advantage. And ask some of you, your advice.

I went into the hospital Sunday night after dinner with my fiance and parents for my birthday. We went to a restaurant we always go to, and I had the same as usual. But it being the 2 month not being in the hospital, I knew I had a visit coming up (odd, but I end up there  every 2 months) I'm eating once a day in fear of another visit to the hospital, and when i do eat it's plain no spice food, I'l have a few bites, and give up in fear. But I am so bloated, and feeling gassy. Any have an idea what I can do help this?

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I'm pasting this from another post: Bloating usually means one of a couple of things. The most common is gas from bacterial action in your gut. This can be controlled by diet to some degree. If you want to try that, have a look at the SCD introductory diet plan: pecanbread.

It could also mean that you are suffering from a stricture or partial blockage. This is usually accompanied by nausea and vomiting if it is severe. A stricture needs medical (drugs) and possibly surgical intervention, so let's hope for the less dangerous case - bacterial growth.

When ever i get bloated i just rest. The best thing to do is just relax. Try putting some heat on it like a heating pad to ease the pain .
also try just sitting on the tiolet and letting any gas out (as funny as that sounds it helps ALOT)
Hope you feel better =)

RA&CD I have been having alot of bloating and gas myself and suspect that I may have developed another stricture in there, I also take Probiotics regularly, so I know my bacteria levels are ok. If you already know you have one and have been experiencing the nausea etc I would try to stay on a more liquidy/soft diet until you get your scope.

Thank Nanners I'll try to do that. But it's so hard because I feel so weak by not eating, and grumpy cool   and my scope is at the end on sept.

From now on I'll stick to ligh/soft foods (yoohoo for me) and the rest of us doing this.

Thanks so much again for the great advice

I would try to call my gi's office but the receptiness is a b**** and never ever gives my msg. I have a funny feeling I'll be the in the ER before the end of sept. as I am there every 2 months, was just there sunday/monday. maybe whe i'm in the er the doc wont be busy and she'll come see me, and I'll tell her when need to do to a.s.a.p.

see my GI works at the hospital I normally go to, and she is the only GI in the entiry hospital, so even when I do end up in the er there is only a 10 % chance I'll even see her.

I'll keep calling tho!

Get tested for C-Diff and H-Pylori. I've had both (at different times) and they both caused a lot of bloatiness.

For C-Diff you need to submit a stool sample. There are two different tests for the H-Pylori. One is a blood test. One is a breath test. I wish you the best of luck! :)

Hi my 85 year old mom has IBS and horrible bloat. Looks six months pregnant. Have you tried activated charcoal capsules? They "adsorb" (vs absorb) the gas that is trapped. Really gives her relief, and fairly fast too, 30 minutes. Your mileage may vary. Some report charcoal gives them constipation, others diarrhea. Remember it will also adsorb other stuff too, like meds or supplements you WANT to be on board. I'm just saying. It helps my mom.
