So, had a EUA of a fistulotomy last Tuesday and the surgeon was still unable to find anything on the right. Thursday the right side started to feel uncomfortable and I thought it was probably due to his fiddling.
Had to go to the doctor this morning, its swollen, sore and oddly enough looking a bit blue, with two obvious tracks. So he's going to write another letter to the surgeon as my follow up wont be for at least 8 weeks.
I had a feeling I wasn't done yet, this one will pop and drain, then the whole cycle will start again.
It only popped 5 weeks ago and gave a gorgeous amount of blood and pus. Does anyone elses do this?

I'm so sorry your having to go through all of this. I was lucky enough that my fistula stayed open, and never closed back up. Because that is pretty common with those. Like you said the whole cycle just continues. Closes up, has to open again and drain. Which means all the pressure and pain that goes with it. I had mine fixed by fistulotomy and it hasn't came back, it's been years. But it did take a whole year to heal up, that was lots of fun!! :(

Anyways I sure hope you get some better relief soon!

Oh Sore Tum, I am so sad to hear this! It does sound like an abscess with a fistula that opens and closes. It sounds closed now, which means infection is trapped. I am quite concerned about the discoloration. I suggest you call the surgeon tomorrow and ask to see him ASAP. If you get a fever I strongly suggest you go to the Emergnecy Room. And if it starts to turn black (sepsis) or you get red streeks (blood poisonong). Now I am not there with you and I am not a doctor, but I suggest you be cautious because this could very well turn into a large infection. Let us know what happens!

Thanks fallcolors, it popped last night and now is draining. I think it turns blue just befre it pops because of all of the blood?
I will be careful if I get a fever. I'm going back to work today today after being off for the best part of a month, I'm actuallly quite excited (sad I know). I'll have to tell my boss that i'm not quite finished yet though.
