Hello all,

This is probably the most frustrating part of Crohn's Disease for me. HOW does one know a flare is coming on. I'm a newbie with Crohn's. I was diagnosed 3 years ago and believe it or not, I'm still trying to figure this crappy (literally) disease out.

Could what I'm experiencing be the beginning of a flare, just a stomach bug or did last nights dinner not agree with their stomach!

I was up from 3-4:30am last night pretty much emptying out the digestive track. TMI i know, i'm sorry but I think we're beyond that now when it comes to Crohn's.

Was it stress because before I went to bed I was working on this Homework problem that I could not figure out and when I awoke I was dreaming about it - hence the throwy up feeling and dash to the bathroom, only to have diarhhrea?

Could it be the new dinner my husband and I tried that contained beans? Possibly...but he felt fine! Then again, he doesn't have crohns!

I was also nauseous a couple of times in the middle of the week. I can't be preggers b/c I had my period last week but then again am I one of those medical mysteries who still gets their period throughout pregnancy?! Don't think that thought hasn't crossed my mind. lol!

Is the nausea I'm experiencing now just due to nothing remaining in my stomach? Luckily, I'm not experiencing severe stomach pain - which goes back to the theory of stomach bug or dinner.

So what do I do now?!

a) Take more medicine - Entocort and Immodium
b) Swear off beans and continue to pop tums to ward off the vomit - I should probably stay away from beans regardless haha
c) Eat the crackers on my desk and pray it stays inside me - it's never a good sign when you are AFRAID to eat
d) Take a pregnancy test?! - really those odds are slim though!
e) Wait it all out and do nothing

AAAAH I HATE THIS!!!!!! redface

How do you all know you're experiencing a flare? Do you have symptoms a couple of days in advance?

Thank you for allowing me to vent!!

I will tell you I will allow myself about 7-10 days to see if its a flare or not. Sometimes when I have eaten the wrong thing or had a little too much stress I will be sick for 2-3 days. Thats why I always allow myself a least a week before I call the doc. Hope you get feeling better soon.
