Looks like that I am about to have my annual summer flare up, I have had one every year about this time since I got it in 2007. I went to the loo with slight urgency 3 hours ago and it was fine, went again just now and there was some blood at the end of the bowel movement. This is how it usually starts for me. I feel well but have been stressed lately alot with some family health problems. There is a massive link between flare ups and stress/anxiety for me.

My question today is, shall I just up my meds from 2g of Pentasa a day to now include 1g of suppositories? Or shall I go the route I went last summer and start on the Asacol Foam Enemas which worked within 2 weeks? I have never had or needed to take Steroids so would prefer to stay off them for now.

Any advice? Or shall I visit the GI at this ealy stage?

Diagnosis Oct 07: Mild Crohn's Colitis. Also suffer from bleeding Peptic Ulcers. By the grace of God currently in remission. Current Medication: 1000mg Pentasa Tablets x 2 a day. VSL#3. Asacol Suppository at night.

Well to be honest with you, I usually give my flares at least a week to see if its really a flare, or just one of those bad times that something I ate didn't agree with me or more stress than normal. During the bad times I generally will feel bad about 2-4 days and then improve after that. If this is just the first day, I wouldn't make any changes until you are really sure you it is a true flare.
