sorry if these have been discussed.  no time to search as i am sneaking online at work so shhhhh!

ok, so i see on my little info sheet that you are not supposed to have caffeine with cipro.  is that entirely true?  i usually drink 2 cups of green daily and sometimes a diet cola.  is that safe to do?

and also i was reading about the tendon issues.  does that mean i should not start a new yoga class tomorrow?  which, as you know involves a lot of stretching.

thanks in advance!  i am trying to make sure i get ever bit of drug out of these pills to kill the salmonella once and for all and make sure i don't hurt myself in the process.

I am on Cipro myself right now. I had a cup of tea myself yesterday, and noticed no difference. I think we should probably just limit are caffiene while on the medication. As for the tendon warning you should watch for any warning signs and stop the med if needed. I personally will continue with the medication as I am feeling soooo much better since I have been on it. Oh by the way, I am on it because I have a small intestine bacterial overgrowth. Be sure to take probiotics 2 hours after your last antibiotic each day. JMHO

I am wondering if it might be best to just wait like 2 hours after taking your Cipro before having your tea or coffee. I think they just don't want you taking the med with caffiene, though I could be wrong.

It's scary when you start making the same noises As your coffee maker.

I'd never heard of the caffiene but I have heard that it's not good to take Cipro alone with calcium- milk, yogurt or calcium fortified juices. It's ok if they are a part of a meal, but not Cipro with a glass of milk. I think it diminishes the efficacy.

I'm back on it now too. Definitely watching my probiotics this time around!

Oh, once I had an ankle issue while on Cipro and methylpred. It healed and I haven't had that experience again, thankfully.

interesting sr. i did not start my new yoga class for other reasons but i will be aware of my body for the next 2 weeks. thanks.

and nanners, this morning i had green tea at 8am. i was already feeling sick (this has been going on for awhile though) and after i took the cipro i thought i was going to have to go home! i have no idea if there was a correlation between the 2 but i am going to be more careful :/

I was on cipro for my UC and I did everything the same as I would have if I wasn't on it, and I am a coffee addict and I love pop.
I would be careful on it though because it is known to cause rupturing of the achilles tendon and boy oh boy that wouldn't be much fun...
