there is a likely a webbing / sutures below the skin which will dissolve. you suggest this pain has been progressive however. The distance between the large intestine and stomach it is unlikely the surgeon has perforated it. I have had staples as well as glue as high as just below the notch below ribs in the middle of body. There is feeling after surgery that your insides have been moved. It is unlikely the cough will perforate the stomach but may have jarred your sutures or glue either inside or outside. Your insides need time to find their position. You suggest it is your stomach..is it possible it is your colon..such as the transverse area which is higher(closer to stomach) than sigmoid colon or ascending, but you didnt specify the colon location, nevertheless, I also doubt your colon is perforated, but absolutely do tell your surgeon. Short answer is I think you have gas. Get a good night sleep if you can. Lay down to permit your gut to adjust position might be helpful, even elevate your feet. and rehydrate. even eat something to push the gas through. I hopes this helps.
