I have an appointment with my GI on Thursday (first time in 6 years). I'm on day 11 of diarrhea. Day 2 of pain. I had bloodwork done last week by my regular doc and just got the results. Sed rate=11, wbc=11. From what I can tell, the sed rate is completely normal and the wbc is just slightly elevated. Does this sound right? Could it still be a flare? Or maybe just IBS or something?

For me, my blood work doesn't always tell what is going on. I have had a gradual increase in symptoms over the last 6 months or so, nothing dramatic, just enough that I know something is going on. But my blood work is all basically OK. You might have a flare starting that isn't showing on your blood work yet, you might have some sort of bug or food thing, or it could be IBS. But the key is that you know something is going on and don't just let it go until its something really big. We all tend to just want to believe the doctors when they say its nothing, but our bodies are telling us something different, so listen to your body.

Managing with strict low residue diet, keeping symptoms to a minimum. All test show small amount of ulceration, still have occasional blockages. But still have a great time with my 2 daughters and husband!

My sed rate was only slightly elevated yet I was having a lot of D and low grade fevers. Still trying to figure out what is going on. My scope yesterday does show changes. You've had a good long run there, I hope this is just a little illness or something that quickly resolves for you. Have you been in remission all this time without cd meds?

Yes. I've only had to take acid reflux meds since going into remission. November will be 6 years. I've had a long run and been very lucky. My last GI (the one I'm going to on Thursday) didn't even believe I HAD CD because my scope didn't even show scar tissue. But I have scope pics and a biopsy that prove otherwise, from just 6 months prior to that. I was really hoping maybe I was misdiagnosed, but I had a classic case.
