I know it's probably a very basic question but I'm rubbish at taking any tablets - I am now on Asacol 3 times per day (x800mg) - does it matter if I forget to take the middle one and double up later? does it have to be 8 hours apart? Also does it matter what time of day I take vitamins or probiotics? - I take my thyroid meds every morning after breakfast so can prob handle others then but a potential slavish routine is putting me off getting started (have bought VSL#3)

Thanks
Diagnosed aged 31 in 1996 - emergency surgery (right hemicolectomy). Thought I'd only get 'it' once and have lived in relatively blissful ignorance, apart from a couple of hospital stays for obstructions (scar tissue), until March 09....major surgery, 2 resections, fistula and now only 195cm small bowel left. Not on any meds at present except B12 injections but know there will be some. Just getting used to my 'new' body and it's limitations........ July 09 hospital stay for obstruction & tests show disease back: now on Asacol and waiting to see which treatment I'm put on

Hey Penny,

I am on Asacol also. I would always forget the noon dose so my doctor told me I could take 3 tabs in the morning and 3 at night. Works out better for me this way.

Thanks Gail - I appreciate you replying

Do you also take your probiotics and vitamins etc in the morning as well or do these have to be at different times?
