Hi,

Doc said my latest scope does not show cd but uc. She said some people can go back and forth between the two. Wants to start me on immuran. I feel confused not knowing what my problem is. Has anyone else been double-dxd with these ibd's?

So, what is immuran like? I've only been on colazal and prednisone so far. Immuran sounds a little scary. They said they need to monitor my blood work. How expensive is it, as I have a high deductible to meet?

heatmiser, I was originally diagosed with "Indeterminable Colitis," as I had symptoms of both UC and Crohn's.  My Promethius test said with a claim of 98% accuracy that I had UC, but the drs ended up diagnosing me with Crohn's.  I have a friend who had UC, went through surgeries (had colon removed, etc.) and, after being ok for a year or so, was then diagnosed with Crohn's.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)

Ask for the diagnosis in writing. In order to differentiate between the 2 diseases from scope observations alone, will be reflected by the written details within the scope report. More typically, biopsies are taken during the scoping procedure are (microscopically viewed/) analyzed separately to support a particular diagnosis and this is a pathology report that goes beyond the observations made through endoscope tool. Sorry I cant answer the expense question hopefully someone can answer this.

Interesting. I was told I had diverticular colitis but my prometheus test said I had crohn's. I have eye problems and fissures of late too. It sounds like the diagnosis can change.
diagnosed 1/09 with "diverticular colitis" ?? location, sigmoid colon
localized scleroderma & IBS, low thyroid
 50 +  female
colazal, fish oil, synthroid, zoloft, VSL#3 probiotic.
Blood test positive for Crohn's for whatever that is worth-:)
