IBD Specialist at Cleveland Clinic told me I may have Crohns-as colonoscopy showed pyloric gland metaplasia, active ileitis and active focal colitis. I have been nauseated and had severe pelvic pressure when I sit for over one year, but I don't have diarhea and have 1-3 bowel movements/ day. I do have palpitations, no appetite, on and off anemia, and have also had a parathyroidectomy, high cortisol and pre-diabetes. My nausea and pelvic pressure have not remitted in over one year and I feel lousy every day and also have just been treated for h-pylori. Does anyone else have endocrine issues along with ileal ulceration? CT Scan showed mildly enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes that look inflammatory. Could all this go with Crohns? Thanks.

Several features of your test results sound like Cushings disease. Palpitations would be connected to the hypokalemia and high cortisol, pre-diabetes and poor immune response (resulting in repeat infections and intestinal problems) all are features of Cushings. It may be caused by tumors on any of several glands including the parathyroid. The high cortisol in particular is unusual and eliminates a lot of other possibilities.

Thank you for the response. I do not have hypoalkemia. I did have a benign parathyroid tumor and wil be tested for Cushings this week due to slightly high cortisol. IBD Dr. at Cleveland Clinic said Cushings would not cause ileal ulceration. I am very confused and sick. Anyone else have high cortisol?
