I mentioned to my mom earlier that I may go to the sauna at the local pool tomorrow...I've heard that it's good for detoxing the body and stress and such...But she seemed to think it was "unhealthy"...but didn't elaborate. I always thought it was a good thing. Anybody know anything different?

They are really nice for de-stressing and relaxing, if you can look passed the fact that like hundreds of people were sitting in there with their sweat all over the place too.  Just bring a towel to sit on, and flip flops to wear and it should be fine. I go to the sauna at my gym all the time.

It can be a heart stress, but you would know if that applies to you. Otherwise, it is no different from going to the gym.
