I have recently started taking Primadolphilus Reuteri and am very pleased with them, even started my healthy husband on them.  We are going on vacation next month yeah   and where we are going does not have a refrigerator available in the hotel, so can't take them on the trip.  What probiotic do you use when you travel?  Is there another in this family that doesn't have to be refrigerated?  We are going down to Mexico, so I definetly want to continue my probiotics.  Thanks for your help.

That is a tough one Nanners, we always have a fridge in our hotel rooms when we go away on baseball trips (which are only for the weekend) so I just take what I need with me (usually one cuz I take one the day we leave, then one when get home on the 3rd day), the only thing I can think is if you ask at your local health food store what they have that is comparable to the PR that doesn't have to be kept cold (if the PR isn't kept cold it loses about 35% of it's strength so they're not totally useless at least) and then maybe take double of the un-cold type you get for travelling.

Good luck and have a great trip!!

The travel cooler is a great idea. Also, when I stay at a hotel without a fridge I simply take my smallest personal cooler. It's about the size of a lunch cooler. Nearly all hotels have multiple ice machines. I just keep my probiotics on ice in my little cooler! It's simple and cheap! Have a great trip!

Oh! I got to thinking you may be flying... In that case, I've taken several extra zip-lock bags in my suitcase and when I get to the hotel, I load one up with ice. Then I double-bag my probiotics inside a couple other zip-locks (it's BAD for probiotics to get moisture in them!) and place that inside the bag of ice. This keeps them nice and cool. Of course, I have to replace the ice every day. Also, I carry the probiotic bottle in my purse during the flight to make sure it doesn't ever get too warm...

I am flying down to Mexico, so I really don't think the ice options are good for me. I am sure there is a another quality probiotic I can use during that week. Thanks again.

Well, just to clarify.... I carry mine in my purse when I fly somewhere (they are ALL fine for a few hours) and then place them on ice at the hotel by using my zip-locks or just the little ice container in the hotel room. But you are right, another quality probiotic may be easier! Whatever you do, have a wonderful, relaxing time!

I guess you are not understanding that there is not a ice machine at the hotel. So the ice idea won't work for me. But thanks for your thoughts.
