So those on it,  just curious what little side effects your seeing, if any?  I know we are all different and going to see different things.  Just curious is all...
I only just had my first two injections last week. (Wed.)  But so far this is what I'm seeing:
-MOODY!!!!    lol     I am so moody and crabby like that it isn't even funny.  My poor husband got his head chewed off yesterday morning over something so dumb.  I felt so bad. I even had a bad day Monday with my boss at work.  I feel like I want to cry over anything and everything.
-Not sleeping well- I am NOT a person to wake up in the middle of the night at all.  Since about Sunday, I wake up about 2-3 times a night. Then I get all mad when I see its only 2am or 3am and I don't need to be up yet.  ugh...
I hope the above will get better with time.  Next week I do the next set so will be interesting to see if this stuff gets worse or goes away.   I do think it's working though as my bathroom runs have gotten better and I do have a bit more energy then I was having.
Living with Crohn's Disease since Jan./2000 but had a few years prior
I'm a true Crohnie with IBS and Arthrities too
Meds I have tried:  Too many to list- LOL
Meds currently on:  Tramadol for the pain

Hi LBJ, as my husband always says "try to look on the bright size" and of course that's easy for him to say as he isn't living with Crohn's only with me. However, you did say that your trips to the bathroom were FEWER and that can't be overlooked.

Once of the hideous side effects of Cimzia is Anemia which might, and I said might, tie into you're not sleeping. Next time you have a blood test, remember to tell the blood techie and your doctor that you are already not sleeping well and to check your blood levels to make sure that your levels are NOT skydiving like mine have done. I am in the hands of an Histologist. BUT, my problems are also mixed up with the 6MP but I really think you should mention your sleepiness to the GI because the Cimzia can cause Anemia.

As for letting go on your husband, we are all moody, anxious, depressed and have mood swings that swing up and down by the hour. I try so hard not to complain to Dennis because how could he want to hear about this all day long. Thank goodness for this place to implode and people really listen and I try to work out every day even just a bit. But I am so overwhelmed sometimes I just feel like what's next.

Yesterday I saw my ENT and I need sinus surgery; it is nothing serious but it is combined with a tooth extraction and then a tooth inplant. I really just wan t to cry!!!

I truly hope Cimzia works for you. I am at 5 months and still going strong. Good luck and LBJ!!

I have been taking Cimzia for the past four months.  After about two weeks, I noticed a huge difference.  I still have diarrhea, but it is not even close to the frequency it use to be.  I too have trouble sleeping and that seemed to change after I started taking Cimzia and once my Vitamin D levels were back to normal.  I had severe abdominal pain prior to Cimzia as well.  Except for random days, I feel a lot better overall.  I still have bad days, but I believe that Cimzia is the reason why my overall quality of living is better.  I took entocort for eight months and have always been prescribed Pentasa.  I have not noticed any side effects that would cause me to stop taking Cimzia at this point.  The only issue I have really noticed is that I get a random low grade fever often, which goes away with Tylenol.  My GI suggests that I may be getting the fevers, because I may be fighting an infection.  Getting infections is a common side effect of taking Cimzia.  I am asked about any new symptoms of infections everytime I reorder the medication.  I suggest to stick with Cimzia atleast through the first month, zero, two weeks and four weeks.  (because if it works with you the way it has with me, I think you will be very happy) Oh, I did have an injection site reaction once, but it went away after a few days.  Take care and get plenty of rest whenever you can!

When I was taking it on a clinical trial, I would get big white whelts at the injection site.  Once or twice, I felt like I had a little trouble breathing afterwards, but it always went away and I don't really know what caused it (could have been something other than the Cimzia).  I just started back on it a couple of weeks ago and have only had one small white injection site whelt.  Other than that, no side effects...feeling better, actually.

Crohn's Disease, Acid Reflux/Gastritis, Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, Endometriosis, Arthritis, Depression/Anxiety.  Too many meds to list them all.  =)

I have been taking Cimzia for almost 3 months. Big difference in regards to the Crohn's symptoms. I feel much better. The only thing is that I bleed easily. Got flu and pneumonia shots and bled like crazy. Doing the injections (after the first 2 loading doses) I bleed like crazy. A paper cut is really bloody. Before...not an easy bleeder.  I am freezing cold all of the time too... getting chills all of the time. My dr is having me get my clotting and blood count tested. Other than that...I feel better than I have in years. I have even resumed eating some fruits and veggies. I love this medicine. Much better than Remicade or Humira.
