This poor boy. I can't even begin to imagine how this happened - why didn't they x-ray him after insertion to make sure the tube was in the right place?

Several years ago now a young woman who grew up next door to us and babysat for us developed Crohn's disease. During one hositalization she was put on TPN via a PICC line. Her parents visited that night and she had complained to the nurse of pain/discomfort in the chest area. She was found dead in her hospital bed the next morning by staff. The TPN had filled her chest cavity, etc.
Some people are like Slinkies... Not really good for anything, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

That is awful, my Dad had an awful experience a few years ago (nothing like this though)he had broken his ankle and they had to manipulate it to get the bone into the right place we were walking on to the ward and could hear my dad screaming when we got to him they had given him the gas and air and had put the handle in his mouth instead of the proper end!!!! he didn't know as he had never been in hospital before and won't want to again!Bev x
