Anyone currently using either of these or tired it to help with healing or general maintenance?
- Diagnosed Nov 08' but undiagnosed for 13 years prior with no major problems
- Put on Salofalk, UGH caused more bad than good.
- First major flare Aug-Sep 09 - I attribute it to intolerance to meds and crappy GI
- Perianal abscess - EUA & possible Seton surgery Oct 14-09 - WISH ME LUCK
- No meds currently except flagyl and percs for pain

i've used l-glutamine for a few months. i have no idea if it helped or did anything. it was prescribed by my naturopath. he's a believer in it and says he's had success with it. i'm using aloe vera juice now too. dont know if that is doing anything but it is "supposed" to help stuff like leaky gut syndrome. i'd rather throw something "natural" at this disease than take a med with all kind of side effects and still not know if it is going to work. so basically i'm just hedging my bets in regards to side effects.

Yes, my son uses 2 teaspoons a day of glutamine powder mixed in juice when he takes his meds and supplements.  He's enjoying good health right now.  I think it's a combination of things but I think this is a good addition to the regiment.  Our naturopathic doctor recommended it and our Integrative medicine doctor confirmed it.   It takes about 6 weeks for it to take effect.  It should be used as part of the daily routine.
