k I'm a little freaked out. I think one of my hemmies just burst, there was a decent amount of blood, then it stopped. The swelling went down and the pain is better. Is this normal or should I call the doc?

I have hemorrhoids bleed in my sleep, if I lift sonething too heavy, if in an irritated state and I walk too much. I could go on and on. If the bleeding has stopped, you should be okay. What you need to do, is top talk to your doctor about medication to keep your hemorrhoids from getting so large and/or irritated. My problem hemorrhoid responds well to steroid cream like Proctosol or Proctocream. My problem is that when it shrinks and isn't bothering me, I stop using the cream. Then it swells and the process starts all over.
