hiyas,

I know some of you suffer from the anal skin tags.  Mine are bothering me lately to the point they are so itchy I cant stand it.  When I wipe I keep rubbing it with the TP til it bleeds at times I use the wet wipes when I have a BM each times to make sure that I am as clean as I can possibly be.  I looked in the mirror they seem larger than I recall them being is that normal for them to swell up?
Dx with Crohn's 1987, symptoms as early as 1984.

Yes they can swell up (that's when they are in their flared state), mine were never really itchy (do you maybe have a hemmie too?), hemmies and pinworms can cause pretty bad itching.

:)
bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
Hmmm, maybe I do have a hemmie.  Whenever the tags bother me it always itches in the same place.  How at home would you know about pinworms I never saw even 1 when i was working as a vet tech and I know dogs can get them and they can Xfer to people but there are no pets here.
What can I do for this horrid itch?
When you wipe your butt after a poo then check the TP for any little (and I mean tiny) white skinny things moving around...google "pics of pinworms" and for the anal itching, if there is a hemmie there than an OTC med should aid with the itching...you could also try witch hazel.
If you happen to have extra virgin olive oil on hand, you could try a bit of that, it's actually quite soothing to the skin and healing (though I don't know if it would actually heal up a hemmie but it should at least soothe the skin until you get something for it from the store.
I saw on an older post that Calmoseptine helps with the itching. It is OTC. Just a thought...
Then there is the old witch hazel extract on a cotton ball - it still works for hemmies and may help itching.
Put some Cortizone 10 on them and only wipe with cloth until it goes away.
