Figured someone here probably knows. Do we have a compromised immune system by simply having Crohn's, or is it our medications that make it compromised?
Going back to this H1N1, I'm wondering if it's the disease itself, or our treatments that puts us at a higher risk of complications? Because I figure out system is just all messed up from Crohn's, but I can imagine our supressing it is what makes it actually compromised. Any help here for me?

My understanding is that it is the medications.  Our immune systems are actually kind of overactive normally, attacking our own bodies as if we are "invaders," so they have to suppress it in order to reduce the inflammation, etc.  Again, that is my understanding, so some of you can correct me if I am wrong.

It is best to talk with your doc about any H1N1 questions.
