I even became a full time college student play outside actively with my 3 young children and my husband adores me now more than ever. the doctor is now going to up the supressant and I hope that things stay this good for me. Congrats on finding a med that works so well. Imuran put me in remission for about 12 months and then it stopped working so well. Hopefully you'll last longer than I did.
Diagnosed with CD July 2007
Currently on Remicade, Imuran, probiotics, folic acid, multivitamin.

I am happy that the Imuran is working for you. It sounds like you have wonderfuland happy life. These meds can be a huge blessing.

I am starting Imuran next week again. The first time I got a nasty infection so I had to wait a couple weeks. I am really nervous because cancer runs in my family. I can live with Crohn's but cancer is another story all together. Every relative I I know has died of cancer. Plus I am a teacher and can't afford to keep catching all these different infections. I am starting to rethink this line of treatment.

When you say "about four months" did it just suddenly "turn on" or was there gradual improvement over time?? I've been on 6MP for almost 4 months (essentially the same as Imuran) and I have not seen much in the way of improvement.

Many folks have had great success with Imuran and 6mp. I know Zanne has been successfully maintained on 6mp for about 10 years. These meds seem to be the ones that keep folks in remission the longest. I am doing well on just Asacol right now, but if needed I will add 6mp. IMO
