Can anyone, give signs to look for, when you're headed towards a flare up.  I had one this week, (Monday - Today) and now that I had time to think about it, I realized that I was headed towards one last week.Since I only found out that I have Crohns in August of this year, so I never had anyother flare ups. I somewhat remeber some of the symptons, when I was rushed by ER to the hospital on Aug 9th with Crohns  but not all .As when I had my right rotator cuff and right bicep muscle repaired on June 8th 2009, I had to stay over night st the hospital, because I also have COPD and I needed monitoring, and someone at the hospital that night OVER MEDICATED me!!!!! They could not wake me up, and they had to give 2 Narcains at 6:30AM to have me come around, and my oxygen had dropped to 59%, so my brain was deprived of oxygen, and now I have permanent  memory loss.

Goodness, sorry about the hospital problem. That's too bad. Maybe memory will come back with time. Good thing, you made it out though!
I get pain first and sometimes very fatigued. Also, before things act up down below, I will get a wicked case of GERD for some reason. My IBD issues are complicated because I also have diverticula and IBS. Good luck to you Sally.

The symptoms can vary from flare to flare for most people so it can be really hard to pinpoint...such a crazy disease that toys with us.

bee propolis caps 500mg one cap twice/day
omegas 369 caps one cap twice/day
probiotics 10 billion cfu once/day
vitamins C-calcium ascorbate (easy on the gut) and vitamin A each once/day
Prodiem fibre supplement one cap before bed
I've also altered my diet (no junky stuff at all, processed, fast-foods, refined sugars, ect) and exercise regularly.
I went from 30+ bloody BM's/day with lots of lower back pain to an average of 5/day no bleeding no back pain and completely formed stools, still have severe urgency issues.
~~~~~~~~My bum is broken....there's a big crack down the middle of it! LOL :)~~~~~~~~
Hi   jeanneace and pb4,
Thank you both of your replys.  jeanneace I never got any of those symptons last week. Well except for being extremly fatigue. Which isn't much different then  since I found out I have Crohns.
But ever since my last remicade treatment (sept 30th ) I am not hungry at all, most times only eating light and only eating 2 times a day. Breakfast and Supper. Rice Checks and I have become very very close friends, as they seem to help my stomach when it is queezy. I also can not have any more remicade treatments as the last one attacked all of my arthritis and made it 10 times as worse, which is every where in my body. I used to be a landscaper and a florist, and thinking that I was a Super Woman I liftedt hings I should not have, did things that were stupid, and never stopped.   I've had so many arm, hand, knee and ankle surgeries, that  now when I go to a new Dr. I just hand them a copy of all my surgeries, that I have saved to a folder on my computer. Because the form you fill out there is no where near enough space to  write  them all. LOL.
pb4, yep it is a crazy disease that is for sure, and it loves to toy with us.
For me my GI tract starts making a lot of gurgling sounds several days to several hours before a flare up. I will also feel prssure build-up and a distended feeling that is realeased by load gurling sounds. It comes in waves. Several doctors have told me that this gurgling is most likely caused by strictured areas in my small intestine. I've had noweher near as many problems like this since I started the SCD 90 days ago.
Thank you for your reply Carnival Huckster,
I didn't have any of the signs that have been posted on this thread last week including yours at all. The only one besides bing really extremely fatigues was that for 3 days off and on, I had a rash on my upper chest, my neck and face. Then my arms and legs started to get itchy. The places where I had the rash, were like on fire and itched just a little. Kinda like a bad reaction to something, but I knew I had not had anything different to eat, different shampoo, etc.
But then again according to my Dr, he has told me that in the years he has been a Dr, he has hardly at all ever seen the *rare* reactions that i've had. So I am chaulking it up to Murphy's Law. As in if something *rare* will happen for side effects it will happen to me. Been that way since I was little.
Best thing for me is to grin and bare it, and go on.
