We have had many moms on here who have taken Remicade, Humira, 6mp/Imuran and even Pred while pregnant and all had successful pregnancies and delivered healthy babies. Hopefully Stef17 will be along soon, as she has had a few babies while on meds. Good luck!

I had the humira baby. I didn't start the Humira until the 2nd trimester, but that was because I was on remicade during the 1st trimester and GI & I decided that it was time to switch to something new. I had been on remi for 6+ years and it has lost effectiveness. Anyway... my daughter was born healthy and she will be 1 year old in December. She is SO SMART - smarter than my other 2 were and I thought they were brilliant. :)

My GI and my OB (who takes "high risk" patients) were both in agreement that staying on the Humira was the best thing for me to do. No one wanted to risk a flare. I also breastfed for 7 months while on the humira. The humira molecule is too big to go through the milk. If you have more questions I'd be happy to answer what I can from my own experience.

P.S. I'm still on Humira and we are currently ttc #4 - our LAST one. :) I will be on Humira the whole time and plan to breastfeed again as well.

wow thats really interesting. Im so happy you could stay on it. I hear pregnacy and flare ups are really painful. It's good to know I can take it. Did you get hair loss by chance from the Humira?

Just out of curiosity, why are you on coumadin? That could be a reason for hair loss too. I started coumadin only about 3 weeks ago and have noticed more hair coming out. Uggh to side effects!

Im on coumadin for a blood clot that appeared in my left thumb and index finger. Odd I know. They did so many test and I was in the hospital for 2 weeks. They found a hole in my heart, which I am getting fixed this Friday. The coumadin is to help clear up the clot. THey think the clot came from the hole in my heart. Did you get hair loss from you Humira? I got done weeing off prednisone at the end of October. It could be the Prednisone also. So frustrating

Sorry, you did tell about the clot and your surgery in another post (my mind is a little off right now...taking pain meds lately) We seem to have some of the same issues...clots, crohn's, humira...and I wonder about having a baby one day too. I'm waiting until I get done with the coumadin first because you can't get pregnant on it, then I'll see where things are. Hopefully that's only 6 months and it doesn't turn into long term. (either way I need a boyfriend first to even think about having a baby..lol) My GI and I have talked in the past and she says Humira's something we'll figure out when we cross that bridge, and ultimately it'll be my decision. It is good to know that there are women out there, and on HW that have had Humira babies!

Humira never made my hair fall out more...or at least I've never noticed it. I'm on prednisone right now too, but only very short term, so I'm not worried about the side effects from that. I've noticed in the past that anesthesia makes my hair fall out more, so after surgery you might notice that also...but no matter which drug it's from, your hair grows back, so it's short term... Isn't it's so fun being patients, having to deal with not only disease and surgeries and all, but the side effects from all of it...

Thank you for sharing your, I was also wondering the same thing. As I may have Endo... and may consider just having a child now and then go on birth control and not worry about pregnancy later on. Knowing Humira has put my crohn's into remission, not wanting to chance a flair while pregnant. Thanks again!!! Glad to hear such a happy story.

Thank you so much for sharing. I was wondering the same thing, as I may have endo and was considering having a child now and then go on birth control and not worry about a pregnancy later on .As Birth control will shorten my chance to get pregnant as I suffer from migraines. Humira has put my crohn's into remission, the doctor wants me to stay on it, so it's nice to know I can safely. smaller chance of a flair up. Thanks so much again, So good to hear a happy story!!
