Thanks for the link, Ides. I had a skin cancer cut out on my shoulder last month, it's healing just fine. I've been on Imuran since diagnosis in 2003, but I'm also fairskinned redhead that burns in 20min. in the sun. Mostly avoid the sun. I did have a very bad sunburn on both shoulders when I was 13, (many years ago, 62 now!). Doc was very happy that I came in before it got really bad, I was really surprised, had no idea it would be carcinoma, thought the thing on my husband's temple would be something, it just needed freezing. We will have a yearly checkup, full body, from now on. Feel pretty lucky actually.

I certainly was more prone to sunburn whilst on this. For the two summers I took it I burnt. This had never happened to me before and has not happened since

I was on Azathioprine for about a year. I've had 3 skin cancers (squamous) before and after being in Azathioprine. I'm also fairskinned, redhead (well, used to be anyway), blue eyed and spent many years trying to get a tan (stupid, I know). Anybody remember summers spent in the sun with baby oil and reflectors? I don't go out of the house without sunscreen now and I've tried to get my kids to wear sunscreen and not worry about being fairskinned - only works some of the time. Thanks for the link.
