Anyone ever have the surgery when they blast the kidney stone? I had that done a week ago Monday and i am still sore and wore out. I think that could be why my anxiety level is high right now to. I was just wondering if this is normal. This was my first time ever having this done and i know kidney stones go along with crohn's

Never had the surgery but from my experience with the one kidney stone I had, they could slice me open with a rusty machete if they needed to. Those things smart! Yes, stones are more common in Crohns patients, but there are some meds you can take to reduce the likelihod of getting them. Urologists can do a 24-hour urine collection test that will show what chemicals you are excreting that can form stones.

I am having lithotripsy on Friday.  I have done it several times before . . . lots of stones in my history --I have low citrate levels due to Crohn's/resections.  I usually do real well with this and just have minor discomfort.  Did they send you home with pain meds?  It can take weeks for all the fragments to pass.  Did your doctor tell you how successful he/she thought it was?  I usually can go back to work the next day and just drink, drink, drink to flush out the fragments.  Talk with your dr. office if you are still having problems.  When is your follow-up appt.?  Take care of yourself!

Hopefully, you will feel better soon.  I am sure the kidney took a good "hit" and it might take a bit to let it heal.  Take care!
