Yesterday, every time I inhaled, I was having this really weird/loud creaking noise coming from my upper abdomen - has anyone ever had this before? It was going on for hours, never had it happen before. I didn't have any pain or anything accompanying it but it was really weird (and kind of funny!). Does anyone know what causes this or had it happen to them? I tried to look it up but I didn't really find anything.

Thanks!

Hi Valerie,

Can you describe the noise a little better? Was it really like a creaking door or more like a squeak or...

Did you feel a vibration or anything in your chest?

Not really, it felt almost like something was rubbing up against my left rib(the bottom part of it), and I would really describe it like a creaking door - lol! As I said before, it also seemed to mimic my breathing - as I inhaled/exhaled, the noise would happen at the exact same time.

Were you having a hard time breathing? I've had pneumonia in my left lower lung and sometimes I have strange wheezing in just my lower lung.

Yeah, pneumonia is the only thing I can think of so far that causes noise in your chest when you breathe.

Valerie, if you're coughing, or start to, you should call your dr. I hope it's nothing serious. Keep us informed.

I would agree with AzJohnny.  Pnuemonia is the first thing I thought of.  Get to a doctor and have them check you out.  Don't hesitate.  It could be nothing but why chance it.  I once spent a week in the hospital with pneumonia.  The mix of that and CD is not pleasant.
