Just had my first infusion this morning.  So far I am feeling really wore out, achey joints, and just pretty crappy overall.  They told me that usually patients don't feel these types of side affects until the second dose, I am hoping that I will also get the sudden burst of energy that some get after the second dose as well!  Has this happened to anyone?  Success on the first round?!?!  How long do you 'remicaders' feel crappy after treatments?  Hoping to feel better turkey day, thanks guys!

I felt that way after my first infusion, I went home and slept for four hours! I did feel better the next day, but I didn't start feeling WAY better, Crohn's wise, until the second or third infusion. Good luck and hope you feel well enough for some turkey tomorrow!

I still get wiped out after every infusion (I've had 5), but more treatments does equal more relief from the constant diarrhea and pain. I am a little perturbed that my insurance (Anthem) has decided to pay less of my infusion and Remicade is going to increase cost, so my doctor is forced to send me to the Hospital for further infusions. My son has CVID (similar to depressed immune system) and if our monthly outlay for medical bills goes up, my Remicade will have to stop. Tough to find a good thing just to lose it! Hope you do as well on the Remicade as I have. Be patient, I didn't start getting long-term relief until after the 3 infusion! Good luck!

Oh yeh after I have infusion I'm usually out of it - like my entire body is exhausted like I've run a marathon - and usually sleep for about 14 hours after and then wake up miraculously all fixed, LOVE remicade!

Good information! I hope that my Remicade experience starts to take shape soon! I don't have my next infusion for a few weeks.

Are the doctors also giving you Benedryl with the Remicade.  I know a lot of people get it and that could be a source of your tiredness.  Luckily I haven't had the fatige part yet and I had energy after the first dose but even more after the second.  I can't wait until my third infusion now.
