Hello

I have been on Predisolone for 5 weeks now and in the last two weeks i keep having very strange mood swings.

From being very happy full of energy to just wanting to sleep and feeling miserable dont know if im coming or going is this normal when your on steriods?
I feel anxious all the time like i got to keep busy and forgetting silly stuff

Sometimes i cant even sleep cause got so much energy but then wake up feeling so tired!!

so if anyone could tell me what there experience was like on them.

Thanks Kayleaconker

Yes, that sounds pretty typical of steroids. I'm on 35 mg right now myself, tapering from 40. It's very frustrating, but remember you won't be at this dose forever.

Yes to everything you said. With me, as a male, I had explosive temper also and blurred double vision the last time.. Time before that my wife was happy because the house was spotless. I became a regular "Felix Unger on steroids" lol

Hang in there.
I use FD&C Blue dye number 1 and it really seems to help me.  There is SCIENCE behind this.  Just ask me and I will explain it to you.  U/C and Crohn's for 34 years.  Blue dye for one month and I am feeling pretty good!  I am so excited by this but I need others to try it with their doctor's permission.  Simple food coloring!!  BLUE1.
I can't make money on this, it's already in your kitchen.  I just want to help, especially the youngsters.
I do 2 drops in 6 ounces of water when I get up, 2 or 3 drops in 16 or 20 ounces of water that I sip all day and then 2 drops in 6 ounces of water at bedtime.   Max of 7 drops a day.

Yeah, that's par for the course with pred. For me, it diminishes when I get down to a lower dose.
Diagnosed with CD July 2007
Currently on Remicade, Imuran, probiotics, folic acid, multivitamin.

pezdog. If you will forgive me for saying "at your age" I think it is easier to let the anger control you. Recognize what is happening to you and use your head. I'm very glad to hear your pain is improving.

I never let my doc put me on stronger than 30 mg of Pred. Anything over that and I get really bad side effects.
