I think it increases the amount of good bacteria in your intestines and has really helped alot of people in that department. My naturopath gave me a really good probiotic called Ultra Flora for the gut and I'm sure it would help if I could remember to take it in addition to everything else!
I see you're 16... I'm sorry you have to deal with this :( I was 18 (last year) when I first got sick and it's such a drag to be a sick teenager and not get to do everything you want to do....

Hi SNL,
Pentasssa did not do anything for me. Mine is in my Ileum. Did you have any hairloss from Pentassa? What state do you live in? How much does Ultra Flora cost? I just got off an antibiotic so my dad bought Culturelle which has 10 billion count but cost a dollar a pill. Hate to pay so much if it is not worth it.

hey pezdog, want to go on chat? I'm on there. Anyways I live in Canada, pentasa's not doing much for me these days (might even be harming me?) and I haven't got like patches of hair falling out or anything but a bit more comes out in the shower then usual... that could also be cause I dye it so often though! I'm not sure how much Ultra Flora costs, but my insurance paid for it so ultimately it probably cost me like 3$.
I have a GI appointment next week and I'm scared I'm going to get put on more intense scary meds :(

my internet stopped sending my messages! but to answer your questions, I'm too thin (about 105 pounds, 5"3 which I guess isn't that bad but I wish I could put on some weight) I've gotten allergy testing that says I'm sensitive to wheat, but sugar bothers my stomach ALOT more (as in if I ate a pack of sourpatch kids I'd get the worst pains and I don't really notice if I eat a piece of toast). If I'm feeling okay, diet pop doesn't bother me that much but I drink carbonated water probably more then I should (I like bubbles!). I also can eat some dairy but not cows milk. And I'm nineteen... anyways I'll be on here if you ever want to chat again, not often I get to talk to teenagers like me
p.s. you should look into buying some digestive enzymes, I find they make a difference for me digestion wise.

I take Primadolphis Reuteri made by Nature's Way and it is working great for me. Probiotics help to even out the bacterial fields in your intestinal tract. We Crohnies tend to have an imbalance and the probiotics help. I have noticed less bowel movements and they have helped to firm up my stool too. I personally feel all of us should be taking them. Mine cost about 8-9 dollars for 30 pills. Much cheaper than the ones you are on. I get mine in the refrigerated section of my local health food store. (They must be refrigerated). Good luck!
