Are any of you on Humira and Entocort and still have occasional flares? Do you think its normal that I am having severe flares while on such strong drugs? Its been 6 months since I began Humira and 2-3 months for the entocort. I would think these should be "preventing" flares but maybe its normal to have the occasional pains? I'm seeing my dr within the next few weeks but want to get people's opinion on this. I might have to search the surgical route if these last resort med's aren't doing it...last surgery I had was in 97' so I think I've made it a long while. Maybe I'm due for another snip.

I was just on Humira when I had this last bad, worse flare I've ever had. I had been on Remicade and it seemed to work much better for me. I wasn't on entocort at the time. Maybe someone will come a long and have done that. For me, Humira just did not seem to be working as well. I hope you get to feeling better *hugs*

Maybe you need to switch from Entocort to Pred to get your flare back under control. And not all meds work for everyone, so maybe Dana31 is right and you need to change up your meds. I would pursue all medical options first before deciding on another surgery. What is removed cannot be replaced.

Good luck,

I'm on Humira and Entocort and my crohn's is far from under control. I find that when my doctor tries to taper me off entocort my crohn's becomes 1000 times worse, so its obviously doing something for me. Its just frusterating when meds don't do what you want them to.
